Open Space has plenty of nodes, to place spacecraft and furniture. I've been able to fill my "Red Hawk" spacecraft with everything from warp engines to barracks, cargo, crew quarters, helm, engineering, a med bed, food synthesizer and even a smuggling room with black market dilithium and a few surplus photon torpedos.
This is a WONDERFUL difference from my first Space room, that had practically NO nodes and therefore you couldn't place anything. I highly recommend this.
